February, 2009 - Manitoulin Life Video in Production - The Manitoulin Living film project is currently in the final editing stage. The DVD is slated for distribution in March. Manitoulin Expositor's Lindsay Kelly stated in a recent article “The cultural significance of a First Nations Pow Wow, the calming beauty of a farmer tilling his field or the crystal blue waters of a freshwater lake may be everyday scenes for Islanders but Manitoulin Living is employing them as visual temptations to entice people to relocate here.” Some of the objectives for the project include: To develop a high quality film/video to market and brand Manitoulin Island as a viable destination to live, visit and do business; to use the medium of film to market Manitoulin Island through multimedia packages, seminars, TV commercials and websites. The end product is anticipated to be a 15 - 20 minute video for use on the Chi-Cheemaun, in ferry terminals, the Welcome Centre and in participating organizations’ marketing packages. September 2007 - Manitoulin Film Begins Shooting Harry Makin, known throughout Northern Ontario and beyond for filming the television program Rainbow Country in the late 1960's has finished filming the DVD promotional video of Manitoulin Island! The film will be available shortly! The end product's goal is to be a 15 - 20 minute video for use on the Chi-Cheemaun, in ferry terminals, the Welcome Centre and in participating organizations’ marketing packages.
July, 2008 - You're Invited to grow and bloom on Manitoulin Sudbury Star - We have a wonderful quality of life on Manitoulin, and we want others to have the opportunity to experience it,” says Joyce Foster, Chair of an organization called Manitoulin Living. “Once you come to Manitoulin, you’re hooked. My family and I moved here in 1970 to start a business. We’re now retired, still here and can't imagine being anywhere else.” Though I don’t live on Manitoulin, I sure do a lot of Manitoulin Living. In my head, when I’m not visiting. The internet, writing Window Seat and deepening my own friendships in Little Current, Gore Bay, Kagawong, Manitowaning and Providence Bay. On the island, I can’t stay away from any Farmers Market. With potholders and paintings, my kitchen in NYC is called “Going to Manitoulin” for breakfast.

June, 2008 - Manitoulin Living and CTV Manitoulin Living's CTV ad campaign kicked off in June. The ads will run over 14 weeks with close to 300 commercials airing in the southwestern Ontario market. The Commercials will use existing footage compiled over the last 8 months.
May, 2008 - Were Swamped! With over 200 requests for FREE information packages over the past week, Manitoulin Living's Harrowsmith ad and postcard campaign can be declared an unequivocal success. We anticipate a further swamping in the coming weeks as our television ads are set to begin on the long weekend of May on CTV in Southwestern Ontario.
April, 2008 - Manitoulin Living's 2008 Ad Campaign Manitoulin Living has begun its 2008 advertising campaign with ads set to appear in Harrowsmith Magazine and on the CTV television network in Southwestern Ontario beginning in May. The Harrowsmith ad, slated for the May/June issue, features a golfer in mid swing with the phrase "Morning Drive" above the picture. The image hopes to capture the imagination of Southwestern Ontarians who are looking for an alternative to the pollution and traffic that plagues most of Southern Ontario.

February, 2008 - Manitoulin Life Video in Production The Manitoulin Living film project is currently in production. We are busily logging video for the production for the 30 second CTV commercial and the promotional video/DVD Manitoulin Life. The DVD is slated for distribution this fall. December, 2007 - Manitoulin Living's Housing Survey concludes The Poll, conducted through Veri/Fact Research in Sudbury, surveyed individuals between the ages of 44 years and up to determine Senior’s preference for accommodation and activities on Manitoulin Island and was conducted as a random sample of the Manitoulin Island population achieving 361 completed surveys which provides for better than +/- 5%, nineteen times out of twenty.
October/November, 2007 - Filming Manitoulin Life continued in the month of October with the filming crew out on the roads of Manitoulin filming the beautiful fall colours. The DVD, slated for distribution next summer, is to promote Manitoulin Island by an enhanced visual presence professionally produced and edited to entice travelers to relocate to the Island.

August, 2007 - Manitoulin Living's Housing survey kicks off Veri/Fact Research of Sudbury has officially kicked off the Manitoulin housing Survey on Manitoulin Island. The brief survey, on behalf of Manitoulin Living regarding Housing services, will require up to 5 minutes of time and all responses will be completely confidential. The Poll is specifically designed to gain a better understanding of accommodation needs on Manitoulin.

May, 2007 - "Manitoulin Island, Ontario has been nominated as one of the Seven Wonders of Canada." After poring over 25,000 pitches, the Seven Wonders team at the CBC debated and deliberated and now present their short-list of 52. This is your chance to tell the judges what your picks are for the Seven Wonders of Canada. The judges will consider the on-line voting results along with the Seven Wonders criteria as they make their final decision.

More than 25,000 different people have visited the site seeking information on Beautiful Manitoulin Island. New Manitoulin resident and Pedorthist David Lloyd has adopted the lifestyle of an Islander: he's a hard worker and is enjoying the many advantages-both to his work and his personal life-that have come with the move.
