Gore Bay Museum
Gore Bay

The District Jail and jail keeper’s home until 1945, it is one of the few remaining jails which retains many of its original features. The museum contains a collection of early settler artifacts and relics of maritime history and ship wrecks, as well as much more.

Manitowaning

The museum served as a jail in the mid-1800s, and hosts a blacksmith shop barn, pioneer home, and early schoolhouse. Down at the harbour is the S.S. Norisle Heritage Park, which includes the S.S. Norisle, a 200 ft steamship, Burns Wharf Theatre, and the Roller Mills, a 19th Century Grist Mill.

Mississagi Lighthouse
Meldrum Bay

Furnished as it was for the early lighthouse keeper, the original magnifying glass and foghorn are there, along with artifacts believed to be from LaSalle’s Griffin.

Net Shed Museum
Meldrum Bay

Situated on the village’s main street, in a building formerly used by commercial fishermen to repair their nets, the museum features displays dedicated to the seafaring and fishing history of the region and has a unique variety of fishing and lumbering artifacts.

Agricultural Museum
Mindemoya

Mindemoya resident Jack Seabrook proudly displays his wide collection of pre-war tractors, gas engines, horse drawn equipment, small farm artifacts, and power machinery.

Mindemoya

See a wide variety of artifacts related to farming, fishing and lumber in the area. The museum includes a log home, blacksmith shop, barn, milk processing and butter making equipment, and ice harvesting tools from pioneer farms.

Centennial Museum
Sheguiandah

Come and catch a glimpse of the past. The life and times of pioneers are brought to life in the barn, sugar shack, and reconstructed log homes. The museum is home to artifacts from one of Canada’s oldest archeological sites, a marine exhibit, weekly activities, and art exhibitions.

Little Schoolhouse and Museum
South Baymouth

Trace the history of Tehkummah Township, the Michael’s Bay ghost town, and the development of South Baymouth from commercial fishing to a tourist destination and ferry port. The museum complex includes a pioneer one-room school house.
