Take the Time for Lifelong Learning

Have you always wished you had the time to learn how to make a quilt, do fine woodwork, or write the great Canadian novel?  Living on Manitoulin Island can provide you with the slower pace you need to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.  We also have five excellent primary and secondary schools across Manitoulin within the Rainbow District School Board, with the small classes and safety that urban schools are trying to regain.

A satellite campus of Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology in Little Current offers courses in a number of disciplines. It’s only a short drive to the campus of Laurentian University in Sudbury.  Art and craft classes and workshops are offered all year long at many island galleries.  Contact North offers distance education through the internet and telephone, connecting you to all of Northern Ontario's colleges, universities and school boards.  Kenjgewin Teg Institute also offers a variety of unique secondary and postsecondary courses, including native language and history and outdoor recreation.
